The Truth Behind All The Buzz (And It’s Good Too!)
Companies, website, associates, and the Network Marketing industry as a whole have recently been making a lot of noise about Donald Trump and his writing partner Robert Kiyosaki after the release of their book titled “Why We Want You To Be Rich” from Rich Press, and rightly so. The book provides a sorely needed message to the masses… You Too Can Be Successful!
What the book doesn’t do that the vast majority of voices out there want to believe it does is provide a proof positive and glaring endorsement of Multi-Level Marketing as “the” way to achieve that success. While this may appear as a let down to some, the reality is that if you dare to dig deep enough into the whole thought process behind the book, you will find that the truth is actually better than the false quotes. MLM “is” a viable way for the average person to achieve the success they seek, along with a whole group of other avenues that are available to Johnny Public. If one remembers that both Trump and Kiyosaki created their wealth in real estate, Trump in Manhattan with his developments and Kiyosaki on the other side of the country with holdings ranging from developments to oil rights and neither one of them actually owning or running an MLM business, it would be safe to say that as truly successful businessmen, they understand the dynamics of many different industries. The link between these two men and MLM in fact lies more closely with Kiyosaki than it does Trump due to the wildly successful mentoring and coaching abilities that Kiyosaki has through his previous writing, nearly all of which are near required reading in the MLM industry.
So what does all of this hold for us? Very simply put, the business acuity of two utterly successful men. And what better way to gain a portion of that knowledge for our own use then to explore some of the traits of one of those authors and how it can benefit you in your Network Marketing business.
Trump’s Traits
Some would say that Donald Trump is not a very good role model for your success, but I would beg to differ. The man who is ridiculed, laughed at, even has his hair made fun of at a nearly light-speed rate, has amassed quite a fortune for himself over the years and with that fortune came a well deserved sense of success. So what can we learn from him that will help us move “our” success forward? Let’s go through a handful of those things…
Passion! Passion! Passion!
if you want to be successful you must come to love what you are doing to get there. Be passionate about your product, your company, your training, your compensation plan. Get sold out to what you are doing and stand behind it Passionately!
Think Big!
Big thinkers focus not on the past or the present, they focus on the future. Concentrate on where you want to be and do the things necessary to get you there.
Know Your Audience!
Make it a point to learn something about who you are talking to, whether it is a client or a potential business associate. Listen to “them” and learn about “them”. The old saying goes “God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason!” Listen twice as much (or more) than you speak.
Think Like A Winner!
This one could also be called Positive Thinking. How you think effects how you come across to others. If you constantly doubt yourself you plant that same seed of doubt in others without even knowing it. We ALL have the seeds of greatness within us just waiting for us to plant them in fertile ground so they may grow and flourish. You ARE a winner!
Be Authentic!
This one is very simple and I think Donald’s words are the best… “Be who you are, believe in what you say and deliver the goods”.
Be Tenacious!
Never! Never! Never! Never quit! Failure is not falling short of success in anything, it is the act of giving up that defines failure. We all look to Walt Disney as a massive success story yet he had to try seven times before he finally found his success. What if he “quit” after trying six times? A world without Mickey Mouse!
Leverage Knowledge!
learn from those who have gone before you. Use the knowledge that your leaders and mentors have to your advantage, and if you don’t currently have leaders or mentors like that… FIND SOME!
Lastly… Be Your Own Best Asset!
Brand your YOU! get yourself out there and create a brand called you and use that to leverage whatever it is that you do. Part of this is to deliver what you promise and then deliver one percent more!
To YOUR Success!
